even though the chinese new year holidays are just over, and i'm very sad to have started school, i really enjoyed myself during the few days of holidays. my family didn't do anything special this year as compared to previous years but i just felt more thankful for the holidays this time around. i think it's partly because i'm in uni. i know that doesn't make much sense. but because of uni, i see for myself how some people are not close to their family members. like they spend almost the whole day out, whole weekend with school activities/studying that they hardly spend quality time with family members. i don't know for sure if that's the case, but from what i observe, i think it's partially true. and that's a very sad thing. i've been close to my family since young. i'm one of those who would rather stay at home than to go out. i like being around my family because i can be myself and not worry about my image cos they know me too well.
about all my public holidays are just spent together with family because i like it that way. i can't imagine life without them. yeah sure, we have our differences in opinions and can't stand the way we do things and stuff, but that's because we are close. and these small differences won't pull us apart. i thank God for blessing me with such wonderful parents and sister. He put in place these people around me to help me and so I should be a blessing to them too.
i think everyone should be close to their family. even work should be set aside to spend time with them. your work isn't going to disappear just because you spend 24/7 on it. but your family ties will if you neglect them for long. well, i sound like some government advertisement promoting family bonding. but, it's true. that's how i feel. treasure your family(:
till then,

J.
