i feel very proud to be part of The Last Days of Robert Wong Musical. although i only play a small small role, but it warms my heart to see so many church members come together, 3 times a week, despite everyone's busy schedules, and work hard, putting in so much effort to make the whole thing come together. i guess the sense of the christian community is really seen in such cases. from the moving of props, to the musicians, to the dancers, singers, cast, stage people, teleprompter, wardrobe, makeup, food & beverage, publicity. i mean, i feel like half the church is involved in at least one area in the musical. how cool is that. and knowing that we all do this because of the hope we have in Christ, and all sharing the motive of glorifying God and spreading the gospel. it's a beautiful image indeed. this is true fulfillment in life. partying, shopping, traveling, good grades, all these don't satisfy me as much as serving alongside with God's people does. which explains why so many people, despite the musical being right smack in the university exam period, still come forward to serve. i guess as christians, we don't see how good exam grades will satisfy us. but that doesn't mean to say we don't put in effort in our school work. we still must. but the emphasis on God is stronger than that of academics. i think many people have yet to grasp this concept. this is my first year finally knowing what it means to have true joy (i remember mentioning this in a previous post). it's an inexpressible joy, a joy from deep within that won't die, not like the joy that temporal things bring - like buying new things. i mean i still like to buy things, but it's not the most joyful thing ever. i guess such things comes with age and time (implying how i'm getting older) i don't think it's a bad thing at all.
i'm so excited for the musical next week. i know it's gonna be a blast because God will be in charge. a time to bond, a time to have fun, a time to serve together and not to forget, a time to bond with my notes since i'm still having exams.
but surprisingly i don't feel that worried for my exams. maybe i'll start to freak out the day before, but for now, i'm still casually typing out this blog post and reflecting. i feel like i'm still quite bad at describing my feelings with good words and beautiful phrases. but i'm improving. haha. at least i don't sound like a shallow retard, compared to my old old blog posts. at least i hope i don't.
okay. time to hit the books.
till then,

J.
