what's new

i've abandoned this space for quite a while due to pure laziness and lack of things to blog about.
chinese new year has just passed and while chinese new year's the time to eat, meet relatives you haven't seen in a year and wear new clothes, i think the best part is that you get to spend time together with the family. being able to talk to cousins you haven't really spoken to and catching up on what's happening in their lives. humans live to connect to people, we need relationships to survive, so yep that's my favourite part of chinese new year. oh but not to forget that i love love loooove the reunion dinner steamboat. like seriously, even though i feel bloated beyond words after that, it's the most awesome thing.
besides the celebrations, i recently submitted my application for exchange. well, i did what i could and i really really hope to be able to go to Korea. shall leave it in God's hands. i guess if He thinks it's beneficial for me to go, I'll be able to get in, if not, well, i'll just have to accept it.
i guess i chose Korea for obvious reasons. i like Kpop (not all of it, only selected groups). i like Korean food. i like the language. i like the dramas. i like the shopping. to sum it up, i haven't found a reason why i don't like Korea. also, practically speaking, it's much more economical than traveling to the far west - Europe and USA. and it's not too near like taiwan and thailand. besides, i haven't been to Korea in my life.
BUT i'm really happy that i'm already guaranteed to be going on a one week trip to Korea during my summer hols. it's a so-called study trip where we get to visit various of Korea's industries - electronics, broadcast etc. but of course, everyone goes there to play and i definitely do not mind going for the industrial visits. if they could bring me to those broadcast places like SBS and MBC... super thankful for this opportunity to go for the study trip and what's even better is that it is kinda free of charge (cos they sponsor $2000). i mean how can anything get better than that? well, my summer awaits.
on a not so bright side, i'm having troubles with finding an internship since i'll be away for that one week and also a few days for church camp. maybe i'll just find a brainless temp job to earn me some hard cash and leave internship for the summer of year 3.
for now, i'll first have to face my struggles of the semester - namely company law and taxation. have i mentioned that law mods are a bane in my life? i'll admit that law english is too cheem to understand and no reasonable person would want to entangle themselves in a lawful mess.
