just wanted to pen down my thoughts with regards to yz. i just suddenly realised how the current yzers and my batch of yzers will have very different yz experiences. different youth leaders, different programmes and well, a different pastor. who's to say which is better. but as part of the youth leaders and being part of the core, i guess the impact i can have on the yzers is fairly great. what we plan to do, how we lead them, the activities we plan and whatever we do or the way we carry ourselves will, in one way or another, affect the younger ones. okay, now that's a lot of responsibility to bear.
this whole chain of thought suddenly came upon me because i'm seeing quite radical changes to yz's events. i don't know if it's a good or bad thing, and i guess i'm not in a good position to judge because, which of us can actually see the big picture. but different is just different. i'm not so comfortable with different. maybe it's because i'm too used to the conventions that i have my reservations and doubts as to what activities we carry out now. hmm seems like my thoughts are in a mess again. because i doubt any reasonable person reading this would actually understand what i'm talking about. i have some issues with expressing my thoughts. always had and probably always will.
i wonder if the yzers enjoy the activities planned. i wonder if they learn meaningful things or find the activities meaningful. i actually think that all these thoughts will never cross their mind at that age because such things never used to cross my mind. say i'm more matured or whatever. haha.
but i think the responsibility of the youth leaders in church really does weigh a lot. youths are in their formative years where a small amount of influence can have a great amount of impact. it all happens subconsciously. the little that you see and hear will definitely leave an impact as to how you view things and how you do things. hopefully we are all being good examples. there's only so much we can hope and do, the rest isn't in our control. well, that's all for now.
till then,
J.
